The top three pieces below were done as portfolio pieces for Whimsical Entertainment. They are the result of a combined effort between myself and
husband and wife artists Jonathan and Lola Myers. The three of us decide on a concept, then the figures are drawn and inked by Jonathan, then colored by
myself in Photoshop. The background elements such as rocks, trees, structures, and land, are done in pastel by Lola. Remaining background elements such
as sky, water, fire, and lighting effects are created digitally by myself. The result of mixed media lends to an animated feel, which was the building block of
Whimsical Entertainment.

Swamp Fox: Birth of a Legend was published under the former Ambition Studios label, which would later evolve into the
Whimsical Entertainment group. The book was a 150 page b&w graphic novel which was self-published by myself and its
creator Jonathan Myers. The two of us had decided during our college years that we would produce a comic book, given our
shared love of the genre. After batting around many ideas, Swamp Fox was the one which was the most original. The book
sold about 500 copies through local advertising and tri-state conventions, and was even featured as a cover story in
Binghamton's
Press and Sun Bulletin and local news outlets. Below is some of the coloring work I did for the graphic novel. All
characters and scenery were hand drawn and inked by Jonathan Myers, then colors were added by myself in Photoshop.

Swamp Fox Re-imagined: From Black and White to Color
From Black and White to
Color

The print version of Swamp Fox: Birth of a
Legend
was in black and white, but our vision
for this project was a full-color book, as shown
in this sample page, which I colored digitally,
again using Photoshop.

The project is now being colored and will debut
online soon. Once the coloring and revamping
is completed, it will be published in hardcopy as
a full color graphic novel.

The full-color version of
Swamp Fox is now being published as
a weekly comic on our
Dream Satyr
Publications site.

This is my rendition
of Jonathan's Swamp
Fox figure, done in a
more realistic style.
I did it just for fun.
I put together the above "Towne Crier",
designed to resemble an old newspaper.
It was done as a fun way to promote the
project at the Pittsburgh Comicon in 2004.
